National Beach Day

Sea Turtle Beach Cleanup & Activity

A Sea Turtle Beach Cleanup + Recycled Mosaic Experience

Celebrate National Beach Day at Carillon

National Beach Day is celebrated each year on August 30th, offering a moment to appreciate the beaches we love and reflect on the importance of protecting them.

With sea turtle nesting season in Miami running from April 1st through October 31st, this is an especially important time to care for our shores. During nesting season, sea turtles return to our beaches to lay their eggs, making it essential to keep our coastline clean, safe, and free of debris that can impact turtles and their hatchlings.

Celebrate National Beach Day at Carillon with Flip the Switch, a complimentary, hands-on beach cleanup experience in partnership with MORAES. Join us in raising awareness about sea turtle conservation, removing marine debris, and taking meaningful action to protect the coastal ecosystem we call home.

The Mission Behind the Movement

Making Waves Through Education, Conservation, and Community

MORAES is committed to understanding, preserving, and protecting our local marine environment through conservation, research, and environmental stewardship.

As a nonprofit organization, MORAES creates meaningful opportunities for the community to engage with local marine science and become part of the work happening in our coastal environment.

Through innovative research and conservation techniques, the MORAES team works to address local environmental challenges and inspire greater awareness, involvement, and stewardship of the marine ecosystems we call home.

Flip the Switch is a sea turtle conservation initiative that encourages people to take an active role in protecting our coastal ecosystems. Through beach cleanups, education, and creative reuse, the program highlights the impact that everyday actions can have on our oceans and the wildlife that depends on them.
